Adding a first comment to your post

Last updated on Oct 02, 2026

A first comment is posted automatically right after your post goes live, handy for links, hashtags or a call to action.

Add a first comment

  1. Open your post and find the First comment panel.
  2. If the post goes to more than one account (for example Instagram and Threads), choose the account from the Target list.
  3. Type the comment and, optionally, set a delay in minutes.
  4. Click Add comment.

Each account can have its own first comment. The form stays available until every account that supports first comments has one, and the list only offers accounts that don't have a comment yet.

Reading the list

Every comment shows the network icon and the account name it belongs to, so you can see which comment goes where.

Good to know

  • First comments are available for Instagram feed posts and Reels, Facebook and Threads. Stories, LinkedIn, TikTok and Telegram don't support them.
  • Once a post is published and locked, its first comments are read-only.
  • Team members who can't publish can see comments but not add or change them.
  • Duplicating a post copies its comments to the matching accounts.
