A carousel is a single post made up of multiple images (or a mix of images and video) that people swipe through. Use it when one photo isn't enough to tell the story.
How many images can I add?
Instagram carousels support 2 to 10 images, or a mix of images and video. If you're posting to several networks at once, the composer automatically uses the lowest limit among your selected networks so every network can publish the same post - for example, pairing Instagram with LinkedIn caps the carousel at 9 images instead of 10.
Adding images to a carousel
- Open the post composer and go to the Media step.
- Choose the Carousel format tab (it's selected automatically once you add a second image).
- Click Add images to upload more photos, or pick from your Media library or Stock photos.
Changing the order
Drag a thumbnail left or right in the strip below the preview to reorder your slides. The first image is what people see before they start swiping, so put your strongest shot there.
Tagging people and locations
Tags - tagged accounts and location - apply to the first slide only on Instagram, since that's the cover image people see first.
