Understanding your daily posting limits
Instagram, Threads, and TikTok each limit how many posts an account can publish within a rolling 24-hour window - this is a limit set by the network itself, not by Flomixy. Facebook has no such limit.
TikTok's extra limit while our app is under review
Until TikTok finishes reviewing our app, TikTok also caps how many posts an unreviewed app can publish per account at up to 5 posts every 24 hours - separate from the badge/quota system below, which covers Instagram, Threads and TikTok's normal published-post limit. You'll also see that every TikTok account must be private and every post publishes as Only me until the review is complete.
Where you'll see it coming
On your Accounts page, and in the account picker when creating a post, an account close to its limit shows a small badge:
- Nothing shows below 80% of the limit used.
- From 80-99% used, you'll see a warning badge with the percentage used.
- At 100%, the badge says the limit has been reached.
What happens when you hit the limit
If an account has reached its limit while you're creating a post, the composer shows a banner saying the account has reached its 24-hour publish limit. You can still save the post as a draft - that's never blocked - but Publish and Schedule are disabled for that account until the limit resets.
If you schedule a post into a time window where the account already has a lot of other posts queued up, you may see a warning that this could push you over the limit by the time it's due to go out. You can still schedule it - it's a heads-up, not a block - but the post may fail later if the account is still at its limit when the scheduled time arrives.
If a post actually fails because of the limit
A post that fails for this reason shows "Publishing quota exceeded" with an estimated time the limit resets - this is an estimate (roughly 24 hours from when it was checked), not the network's exact reset moment. Since retrying immediately would just fail again, there's no Retry button on this post. Wait until the estimated reset time, then reschedule it or duplicate it to a later time.
