Choose which account each network posts to

Last updated on Oct 11, 2026

When you publish to more than one network from a single post, each network needs to know which of your connected accounts it should post as. Flomixy now asks you that directly in the composer.

Why you're seeing this now

Until recently Flomixy published to Instagram only, so there was nothing to choose - the account you were already working in was the account that posted.

Now that a single post can go out to both Instagram and Threads, that assumption no longer holds. The two are separate accounts with separate logins, and a workspace can have several of each. So Flomixy asks once, up front, instead of guessing.

How to choose

  1. In New post, pick your networks in the first step (Where should this post go?).
  2. Right below, you'll see one section per network you selected.
  3. Each section lists the accounts connected for that network. Click the one you want to post as.

The account you pick is shown again on the Review step, under Account, so you can confirm before anything goes out. If a section says Automatically selected, it means you have exactly one account connected for that network and Flomixy will use it.

Facebook is the exception - there's no picker

Facebook doesn't ask you to choose one Page. Turn on the Facebook tab in the first step and the post goes out to every Facebook Page you've connected to the workspace - that's why the Facebook network shows a Page count (like Facebook (2 Pages)) instead of a list to click through. If you only want some of your Pages to receive a post, disconnect the ones you don't want on the Accounts page first, or leave Facebook off that post.

Different handles on Instagram and Threads are normal

If your Instagram handle and your Threads handle don't match, that is not an error and nothing is misconfigured. They are genuinely separate accounts, and plenty of brands run them under different names. Flomixy shows each network's real handle so you can see exactly where the post is going - match them up by eye, not by expecting the names to be identical.

"Several accounts are connected - select which one to post to"

If you see this message when you try to schedule or publish, it means:

  • you have two or more accounts connected for that network, and
  • the post doesn't say which one to use.

Flomixy deliberately stops here rather than picking one for you. Publishing a client's post to the wrong brand's feed is not something we're willing to guess at.

To fix it: go back to the first step of the composer, find the section for that network, and click the account you want. Then save or schedule again.

Customizing options for each account on the same network

Some networks let you connect more than one account of the same type - for example two TikTok accounts, or two Threads profiles for different brands. When a post targets more than one account on the same network, you can now set that network's options separately for each account instead of one shared setting for all of them.

This applies to:

  • Media - one account can use a completely different photo or video than the rest, right from the Add your media panel on the Media step
  • TikTok - privacy level, and whether comments, duets, and stitches are allowed
  • Threads - who can reply, the topic tag, and the link attached to a text post
  • Instagram - collaborators, location, and tagged people
  • First comment - the automatic comment added right after publishing
  • Post format, scheduled time, and content language - one account can publish as a Reel while another publishes as an Image, go out at a different time, or be written in a different language, even though they're targeting the same network in the same post

How to use it

Wherever these options appear (in the composer, or on a post's edit page), you'll see a row of tabs: Main plus one tab per account. Main sets the default for every account that hasn't been customized. Click an account's tab to give that one account its own value - the tab shows it's been customized, and everything else keeps using Main's value.

If you only ever post to one account per network, nothing changes for you - there's no extra tab to manage.

The live preview shows one card per account too

The preview panel on the right follows the same idea. If a network has two or more accounts targeted, its focus chip splits into one chip per account (showing that account's own handle, like @brand_a and @brand_b) instead of one shared chip for the whole network. Click an account's chip and the preview updates to show exactly what that account will publish - its own media, caption, and handle - so you can check each account's post before you schedule, not just the shared/first one.

Disclosing paid or promotional content on TikTok

If a TikTok post promotes your own products, or is part of a paid partnership with another brand, TikTok requires you to say so before it goes out. In the TikTok options panel, turn on Disclose video content, then check at least one of:

  • Your brand - the post promotes your own business. It will be labeled "Promotional content" on TikTok.
  • Branded content - you were paid or given something to make this post for another brand. It will be labeled "Paid partnership" on TikTok.

You can check both if a post is a paid partnership that also promotes your own brand.

Branded content can't be posted privately. TikTok requires paid-partnership content to be publicly visible, so if you check Branded content, the Only me privacy option becomes unavailable for that post.

Whenever a TikTok post is included, the Review step shows a short notice above the publish button linking to TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation (and, for branded content, its Branded Content Policy too) - this applies to every TikTok post, disclosed or not, since TikTok requires the same acknowledgment on all of them.

Good to know

  • The choice is per post. Changing it on one post doesn't change anything else, and doesn't disconnect or reassign an account.
  • A network with no connected account shows No account connected with a link to connect one. You can still publish to your other networks in the meantime.
  • The account switcher at the top of the screen is separate. It controls which Instagram account you're browsing, not which account a multi-network post publishes as.

Posting for more than one brand

If the accounts you picked belong to two or more brands, a row of brand tabs appears above the preview. Click a brand to see only that brand's networks and accounts, with the caption and media it will actually use.

With a single brand there are no tabs. The tabs only change what you see in the preview. They do not change which accounts the post goes to.
